Play is the focal point of everyday life in a nursery or kindergarten. Whether it is playing hide and seek or go-karting in the yard, children need to be able to put their imagination into play. Play is a big part of their mental and physical development, and it is therefore important that they have the right toys to play with.
As an institution, you must have a wide selection of toys for different ages, as a three-year-old, for example, does not have the same interests and competencies as a six-year-old. Units Danish Design’s toys for institutions are widely aimed at all children – both older and smaller children can benefit from our tumbling toys, as they are multifunctional and of course comply with all safety requirements.
… This is our vision with Units Danish Design. That is why we have developed a series of tumbling toys in the shape of recognizable animals that children can use for all kinds of games. The animals are available in three sizes, and they are linked to the themes farm animals, Nordic animals and exotic animals. The bird and the Sunflower fall outside these categories as they have special motor skill developing features.
The subdued colors and gentle expression of the animals mean that they can be easily integrated into the institution. They are not going to look cluttered, just like they are easy to pack away when the day is over. Due to the calm design, they can easily be included with the train track, play rug and Lego bricks without disturbing – they complement other toys well.
The large animals are good to place in the playroom or one of the larger common areas, where the children have the opportunity to play. The small animals are better suited in a toy box with other smaller toys so that they do not get lost.
Our institutional toys are guaranteed to be a hit for the kids. Their multifunctional nature allows them to be used for everything from role-playing to relaxation. They can withstand being used day in and day out due to their high quality and durable material.
There are no limits to what games our animals can participate in once you get to know them. The simple design is a conscious choice, which should trigger the imagination of the children and ensure a great versatility in the products.
The small Units are particularly suitable for fine motor skill and sensory development in children. They can learn about the colors and sounds of the animals, and they gain an understanding of what the animals look like in real life thanks to the lifelike designs. They are allowed to feel the shapes of the animals and experience how different the individual animals are.
In addition, the small Units can also be stacked and used in games – either with the animals as the focal point or with other toys.
The large units are quite obvious for motor skill development and more physical games. The children can use them to balance and test their own limits. It can be a good idea for them to be used in an area of the institution with a soft surface so that the children do not hit themselves if they should fall or feel like jumping off the animals.
The tumbling toys can also form the framework for games that the children themselves invent, where the animals play a role. They may be on a horseback ride in the woods or on a farm surrounded by sheep and horses.
In addition to fun and games, our toys for institutions live up to the current rules and requirements for toys. This means that none of the toys contain soft plastic, phthalates or other harmful chemicals. In contrast, they are produced from EVA foam, which is CE marked and certified free of harmful chemicals.
We take age recommendations for toys for children seriously. That is why our institutional toys are aimed at children over the age of three. Although our toys consist of one piece, where you do not have to be afraid that small parts will come loose, we still recommend only giving the toys to children over three years.
